Buenos Aires Weather Forecast for December 10 2009

Today is December 10, 2009 and the weather seems crazy in Buenos Aires. Usually, we are exhausted due to the wet heat we have this time of the year. Luckily, that’s not the case these days (yet). December started nicely, a bit rainy (more than usual) and not so hot. Remember that we have had temperatures going up to 100 F in the past few years.

This is today’s forecast:

High: 86

Low: 64.4

Sky: partially cloudy

Wind: mild from the east

Rain is coming on Friday!

Sweet November in Buenos Aires

November has arrived at Buenos Aires, and it did not come alone. It is raining heavily and it looks like it is going to continue raining until Monday at least. Last couple of days were a bit crazy, extremely hot (temperature reached 98 F!!!) and it was a sure thing rain was coming down to Buenos Aires.

If you are planning to visit Buenos Aires in November, it would be a good idea to bring clothes for warm/hot weather and some coats in case temperature drops like it will tomorrow.

One of the coldest days of the year, will it snow in Buenos Aires?

Hey folks, if you are in Buenos Aires you could experience yourself how cold it was today! If you aren’t here, well let me tell you that temperature during the morning felt like 30 F (wow!) and it will keep on getting colder tonight.

Aside from the cold, we have rain also still here. Not so strong as the past few days but the sky is cloudy and we could see some rain. Also, the wind is really strong so there is a small possibility it may snow in Buenos Aires. Who knows? Perhaps it could happen if, as forecasted temperature continues to drop and rain stays among us. However, do know that it never snows here. It only happened twice, the first one around 1930 and the second one 2 years ago so even though we would very much like it to snow we should be realistic and know that the probabilities are really low.

Anyway, be prepared because as we reach Friday the temperature will go even lower!

It's raining in Buenos Aires

Hey folks! Boy, is it raining in Buenos Aires! Today I got a good taste of the rain we had after Day's friend in Buenos Aires. You didn't know that, right? Yesterday was "friend's day" in Buenos Aires. Why? Well, we love to celebrate, we love friends, we love hanging out so why don't have a special day of the year dedicated exclusively to our friends?

A man called Enrique Febbraro, an argentinean profesor, musician and dentist came up with this great idea honoring the first moon landing on 1969. According to Febbraro, on July 20 19
69 we were all pending on these 3 astronauts and therefore we were friends with them and at the same time they were friends with the universe. Hence, he thought this would be a great opportunity to have an international friend's day. Every year we gather and the city receives thousands of friends who gather in order to celebrate. This year, due to the swine flu we had less people on restaurants but it was still fun!

Now, back to the weather. Friend's day went thru just fine, however around 3 AM we begun hearing the thunders that anticipated the huge storm that came afterwards. We had lots of rain that lasted all night and in fact, right now it is 4.30 PM and it's still raining. Temperature now is 51.

Check this picture, it is from 9 AM this morning right at the city center. I love Buenos Aires
downtown, even when it's raining!

Ever wander what to do in Buenos Aires on rainy days? Belgrano is a great option, you have a couple of museams and lots of cafes to spend the day so don't let the rain stop you!

It's also cold so if you are going out don't forget your umbrella and a warm jacket. In fact, make sure you do this for the next couple of days since we have more rain ahead at least for tomorrow and cold is coming. Beware that friday's low temperature is expected to be around 33 so Buenos Aires keeps getting cold!

See ya!

Gray morning, sunny afternoon in Buenos Aires

That’s right, this morning was an ugly one as far as weather is concerned in Buenos Aires. It was really cold, we had some rain too and it looked like one of those days to stay in. However, I just heard the birds singing and as I turned my face I could see the sky is clearing out. Clouds are leaving and the sun is finally here!

Do know that it is still cold (55 F), but luckily no rain ahead.

See ya later!

Cold gray Buenos Aires winter

Today has not been one of the greatest days Buenos Aires climate has to offer. It’s rather cold (about 50 F) and the cloud is just awful! Take a look at the pictures I took a few minutes ago to show you what I am talking about. There is no wind, but like I said it is cold and it feels like a good idea to stay in and watch a movie while eating popcorn! It may rain, so be prepared and make sure you bring an umbrella if you are going out.

We are indeed in the coldest month of the year in Buenos Aires so it’s no big news that we have these days. In fact, the weather during July has been quite generous with us. We have had plenty of sunny days so far compared to last winter temperatures in Buenos Aires. Remember that a couple of years ago, we had snow this time of the year. Of course, that was quite an event here in Buenos Aires since it never snows.

Buenos Aires is cold, especially during the mornings and evenings. Apart from that, there is too
much humidity in the air which makes winters so cold and summers so hot. As you know, humidity makes temperature feel more intense.

In any case, if you are visiting Buenos Aires a day like today could be a good opportunity to visit the Museum of Spanish Art Enrique Larreta located in Belgrano. I visited it a few weeks ago and it an awesome place, don’t miss it!

Take care and see you later!
