Ugly rainy day in Buenos Aires

That’s right, today has been an ugly rainy day here. Not so cold, temperature during the afternoon was around 60 F which combined with the high humidity we had made the day even worse. Buenos Aires (translated to English means Good Airs) is known for its high humidity. That’s why summers are so hot and winters can get even colder, it never snows here because of that too.

Anyway, today was a day to stay in. The rain made this a grey day and that along with the swine flu has kept everybody in their homes. Schools are closed for about one month as from today in Buenos Aires (and many other provinces as well). I am sure you heard lots of things about the swine flu in Buenos Aires, IMHO I think there is too much paranoia in the air rather than H1N1 virus. Of course, we are in winter and people get the flu! It happens every year and the mortality rate for the “regular flu” is actually higher than the swine’s. The government is taking action and the media is making this bigger than it actually is. I do agree that we need to be careful, but we can’t let fear dominate us, don’t you agree?

Ok folks, back to work. I’ll come back later with a forecast for tomorrow. Let’s hope this rain leaves us  soon!

Have a good one!
